This article examines Clearchus’ paremiographical fragments. Many of them contain unusual mythological interpretations, which suggests that these were written by Clearchus himself; others deal with moral issues and perhaps belong to his Περὶ βίων. The attribution of some fragments is also discussed on the basis of their conceptual affinity with other passages.
