Contracts for public works performed in the scheduled time
The article offers some reflections on the topic of Italian public works contracts of the past 30 years highlighting unfavorable situations: – Long times of realization of the entire process due to the current administrative system (financing, design, construction, entry into service of the work);- Increase of the original cost foreseen for the project, due to, re-tender, variations, claims. Claims, very often are configured by the inadequacy of the projects of the civil works and the consequent greater overall cost of the project. Finally, the authors, for the common issue of additional works in the project to unforeseeable events, they express their opinion on the favorable rules of a more simply approval process, hoping at the same time, the Intellectual honesty between the parties, and avoiding dynamic debates and sometimes unilateral behavior, based only on interpretations of contract terms (FIDIC Contracts).
