The article aims to show that a marginal note contained in Laur. pl. 59,15, one of the main manuscripts of Dionysius of Halicarnassus’ De Compositione Verborum, contains text by the author himself. The recovered text gives an alternative name for the tribrach, which in the 1st century BC was also called trochaeus. This is the denomination also used by Cicero in the Orator and by Quintilian and provides support for Dionysius’ terminology.
