Il contributo esamina il rapporto tra il Pascoli latino e la fortuna della letteratura latina di età tardo-antica, inquadrandolo nel contesto culturale europeo (con specifico riferimento alla produzione di Pater e Huysmans), che tra la fine del XIX secolo e l’inizio del XX riscopre e rivaluta la storia e la letteratura della tarda latinità, anche mediante la pubblicazione di importanti edizioni critiche di autori e testi tardolatini. Si forniscono esempi desunti dalla produzione letteraria latina del Pascoli.

Giovanni Pascoli, Late Latin Literature and Europe
The paper examines the relationship between Pascoli’s Latin writings and the reception of Late Antique Latin literature, situating it within the broader European cultural context, particularly in relation to the works of Pater and Huysmans. Between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, this context witnessed a renewed interest in and re-evaluation of the history and literature of Late Antiquity, further stimulated by the publication of significant critical editions of late Latin authors and texts. The study offers examples drawn from Pascoli’s Latin literary production.
