Pascoli concepisce la realtà come una fonosfera e le relazioni fra io poetico e ambiente come uno scambio fonetico, un racconto che, spesso, assurge a canto, diviene musica. Il contributo proposto, prendendo in esame parte degli scritti giovanili, insieme a un corpus, più sostanzioso, di componimenti tratti da Myricae e dai Canti di Castelvecchio, ha lo scopo di ricostruire sinteticamente lo sviluppo e la sedimentazione di questa strategia simbolica, così da mostrare non solo l’evoluzione formale e stilistica della rappresentazione dello spazio poetico all’interno dell’opera pascoliana, ma anche il problema ontologico a esso connesso.

Pascoli and Morton: Nature, Soundscape and Hyperobjects from the Poesie Giovanili to the Canti di Castelvecchio
As Pascoli’s work progresses, he conceives reality as a phonosphere, and the relationship between the poetic self and the surrounding environment as a phonetic exchange – a narrative that often rises to the level of song and becomes music. This paper, through an examination of a selection of Pascoli’s early writings together with a more substantial corpus of poems drawn from Myricae and Canti di Castelvecchio seeks to reconstruct in concise form the development and consolidation of this symbolic strategy. The aim is to illuminate not only the formal and stylistic evolution of Pascoli’s representation of poetic space, but also the ontological problem that such a conception entails.
